Wake Up Bedhead’s Top Ten Albums of 2011

#01 Arctic Monkeys — Suck It And See

We opened for the Arctic Monkeys last May and had no idea how great their latest album was at that point. Now that we’ve had all of 2011 to enjoy it, it’s our pick for the best album of the year. The guitar tones are excellent, and the lyrics tell stories. What more could we ask for?

Honorable Mentions:

Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin — Tape Club

Originally released in 2003 as a limited edition, this was re-released as a digital download in 2011, and it’s worth mentioning. We couldn’t add it to the list because it was originally from 2003, but it’s a sweet release nevertheless.

Smith Westerns — Dye It Blonde (Amazon MP3 Exclusive)

It came down to a list of eleven albums, and this was #11. We thought it deserved a mention since it was so close to making the cut. It is a really great album!
